On March 3, a distinguished guest professor: Professor Mari Sako from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford paid a courtesy visit to President Satoshi Nakano and Vice President Yasuhiro Otsuki, Executive Vice President to the University and Director of Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS).
President Nakano expressed his gratitude to Professor Sako and noted his high expectations for strengthening the university’s research capabilities in the field of legal innovation, and President Nakano expressed his gratitude. In addition, he conveyed his expectation that Professor Sako will greatly inspire the young researchers engaged in the field of law at our university.
Hitotsubashi University looks forward to continued collaboration with both professors and their respective institutions.

Professor of Management Studies at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and Professorial Fellow at New College. She is internationally recognized for her work in global strategy, comparative political economy, and the future of professional work. Before joining Oxford in 1997, she taught at the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the British Academy.

The HIAS Bridges Distinguished program started in 2022 as a part of the HIAS Bridges, which aims to strengthen HIAS into a “base of social science” where top-level researchers form a multi-layered research network. The HIAS Bridges Distinguished program aims to further deepen and sophisticate research at HIAS by inviting world-class researchers to HIAS internationally and conducting joint research with HIAS researchers.
