Welcoming Assistant Professor Julia Mariko Jacoby, Hitotsubashi Institute of Advanced Study (HIAS) held its 17th HIAS Brown Bag Seminar on 26 June, 2025. The presentation, “Disaster Nation, Global Expertise: Preparing against Natural Disasters in Modern Japan, 1885-1978” was received with positive feedback from all who attended.
The HIAS Brown Bag Seminar is a new seminar series hosted by Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS).
The seminar series aims to promote interaction between HIAS researchers, faculty members, and students university-wide.
HIAS, with its 10 research centers, will continue to strive to function as a hub to facilitate active research collaboration throughout the the University.
